Preparing a thesis for printing is an important task, so we recommend that you review the basic layout requirements. They will help you avoid technical revisions and speed up the printing process.
- General requirements for printing theses
- Only final thesis manuscripts will be accepted for printing.
- File format — PDF (recommended for printing).
- Image resolution — 300 dpi for clear reproduction.
- All pages must be submitted in a single file in the correct order.
- The layout must be free of crop marks, watermarks, comments, and unnecessary elements.
- All important elements should be placed within the safe zone, taking indents into account.
If you need single-sided printing, specify this in the configurator when ordering or in a comment to the manager; by default, printing is double-sided. - Formats and Sizes
- At our print shop, diplomas are printed in A4 format—this is the standard size for diplomas. - Technical Specifications
- File format: PDF (print-ready).
- Size: A4.
- Bleed: 3–5 mm on each side.
- No crop marks, watermarks, comments, or unnecessary elements.
Adherence to these specifications ensures a crisp and professional appearance for printed diplomas. - Cover
Hardcovers are available for diplomas, providing reliable protection and a professional appearance.
- Colors: blue.
- Cover design: available with or without embossing.
- Hardcover — ensures durability and a neat appearance of the diploma.
- Choice of adhesive or thread binding. - Important details
- Allow for a 3–5 mm bleed to avoid cutting off layout elements.
- A technical margin of error of 1–2 mm is allowed for printing and cutting.
- For hardcover binding, account for the spine area, where slight misalignment of elements is possible.
- Very small fonts or thin lines may lose clarity during printing. - Additional Services
- Embossing on the blue cover with the text “Thesis” - 95 UAH per copy.
- Use of single-sided printing - 30 UAH per copy.
