"Aeneid" is an epic poem written in the 16th century by the outstanding Ukrainian humanist poet Ivan Kotlyarevskyi. The book is a translation from Virgil's Latin poem "Aeneid" and tells about the adventures of the Trojan hero Aeneas, who, after the destruction of Troy, goes on a long journey in search of a new homeland and the founding of a new people. The book depicts wars, love, friendship, betrayal and many other life situations. "Aeneid" is one of the most famous works of Ukrainian literature, it is the national epic of Ukraine and has a huge cultural and historical significance for the Ukrainian people.
