Printing of manuals, print run from 1 copy

To ensure that your publication—particularly when printing teaching guides—turns out exactly as you envisioned, please take note of the basic layout requirements. These will help you avoid technical revisions and speed up the printing process.

• General Requirements
  - We accept both finished layouts and preliminary sketches (drafts) for printing; however, the latter require further refinement and preparation for printing at an additional cost.
  - The layout must be submitted in PDF format, page by page (not as spreads).
  - The layout must be free of crop marks, comments, watermarks, and any unnecessary elements.
  - All pages must be compiled into a single file in the correct sequence.
  - The cover is accepted in PDF / PNG / JPG formats (PNG is recommended).
  All important elements should be placed within the safe area, taking the bleed into account.
• Formats and sizes
  - A4 — the most common format for educational and instructional manuals, convenient for both work and reading.
  - A5 — a compact format suitable for small teaching guides or instructions.
  - B5 — an intermediate option between A4 and A5, often used for convenient educational publications.
  - We can also produce teaching guides in custom sizes ranging from A5 to A4 based on the client’s needs.
• Recommended Margins
  To ensure that the layout of your instructional materials looks neat after printing, we recommend using the following margins:
  - Inner margin: 15–20 mm ; 
  - Outer margins: 10–15 mm;
  - Bleed margin: 3–5 mm on each side — for proper printing without white edges.
  - Safe zone: at least 8–10 mm from the page edges for text and graphics.
  Adhering to these margins ensures the readability and professional appearance of the manuals after printing.
• Technical specifications for printing manuals
  - Color mode: CMYK.
  - Recommended image resolution: 300 dpi.
  - File format for printing: PDF (print-ready).
  - Layout without crop marks, comments, watermarks, or unnecessary elements.
  - All fonts should preferably be converted to curves.
  - File size: no restrictions, but optimized for transfer.
  - Be sure to allow for a 3–5 mm bleed.
  Adherence to these parameters ensures high-quality and consistent printing of instructional materials.
• Cover
  - Place text and important elements no closer than 10–15 mm from the edges.
  - Text on the spine is possible if the block thickness is 10 mm or more.
  - Binding is most often done with two metal staples, less commonly with glue.
• Lamination
  - Glossy — default.
  - Matte — +15 UAH/copy.
  For best results, we recommend avoiding very dark, solid fills.
• Important details
  - Allow 3–5 mm for trimming.
  - A technical margin of error of 1–2 mm is possible for printing and trimming.
  When printing workbooks, please account for unprinted margins in the binding area (due to technical binding requirements), which may remain white after printing.
