Printing of notebooks

To ensure your workbooks turn out exactly as you envisioned, please pay attention to the basic layout requirements when printing them. These will help you avoid technical revisions and speed up the printing process.

• General Requirements
  - We accept both ready-made layouts for printing and provide assistance with their development and design according to your needs.
  - The interior content must be submitted in PDF format, page by page (not as spreads).
  - If the layout is created as spreads, we can split it into individual pages (service fee: 150 UAH).
  - The cover is accepted in PDF, PNG, or JPG formats (PNG is recommended for better print quality).
  All important elements must be within the safe zone, taking into account the bleed.
• Formats and sizes
  - The most popular formats are A5 and B5; A4 is chosen less frequently.
  - If your layout has non-standard proportions, we will help you choose the optimal option or scaling.
• Recommended margins
  - Inner margin (near the spine): 15–20 mm.
  - Outer margins: 10–15 mm.
  - Bleed: 3–5 mm on each side—to ensure pages are trimmed correctly without white edges.
  - Safe zone for text: at least 8–10 mm from the page edges.
  Adhering to these margins ensures that text and key layout elements will not be cut off or damaged during binding.
• Technical Specifications
  - Color palette: CMYK.
  - Optimal resolution: 300 dpi.
  - Maximum file size: up to 1000 MB.
  - The layout must be free of crop marks, watermarks, comments, or unnecessary objects.
  - We recommend converting fonts to curves.
  - The file must be prepared in a print-ready PDF format.
  We recommend avoiding complex effects, shadows, and transparency.
• Cover
  - Place text and key elements no closer than 10–15 mm from the edges to avoid them being cut off during notebook printing.
  - Text placement on the spine is possible provided the block thickness is at least 10 mm.
• Lamination
  - Glossy — included in the price.
  - Matte — +15 UAH/copy.
• Important details
  - Allow 3–5 mm for trimming.
  - A technical margin of error of 1–2 mm is possible during printing and trimming.
  For glue-bound or spiral-bound notebooks, account for the unprinted binding area, which may result in small white margins at the binding site.
• Additional Services
  - Separating the layout from spreads — 150 UAH.
  - Consultation and assistance with preparing the layout for printing.
  - Prepress file preparation (checking the PDF, layout, and technical parameters).
