Printing notebooks, planners, diaries

To ensure your notebooks and planners turn out exactly as you envisioned, please take note of the basic layout requirements during the printing process. This will help avoid technical revisions and speed up the printing process.

• General Requirements
  - We accept both ready-made layouts for printing and can assist with their development and design according to your needs.
  - The interior content must be submitted in PDF format, page by page (not as spreads).
  - If the layout is prepared as spreads, we can split it into individual pages (service fee: 150 UAH).
  - The cover is accepted in PDF, PNG, or JPG formats (we recommend PNG for better print quality).
  All important elements should be placed within the safe zone, taking the bleed into account.
• Formats and sizes
  - A5 and B5 formats are most commonly chosen for notebooks and planners, while A4 is used much less frequently.
  - In the case of non-standard layout proportions, we will select the optimal format or perform precise scaling without loss of quality.
• Recommended margins
  - Inner margin near the spine: 15–20 mm.
  - Outer margins: 10–15 mm.
  - Bleed: 3–5 mm on each side — for proper trimming of pages without white edges.
  - Safe zone for text: at least 8–10 mm from the page edges.
  Adhering to these margins ensures that text, layout, and important elements will not be cut off or damaged during binding.
• Technical specifications
  - Color model: CMYK.
  - Optimal resolution: 300 dpi.
  - Maximum file size: up to 1000 MB.
  - The layout must be prepared without crop marks, watermarks, comments, or unnecessary elements.
  - It is recommended to convert fonts to curves.
  - The file must be submitted in a print-ready PDF format.
  We also recommend avoiding complex effects, shadows, and transparencies, as they may not render correctly during printing.
• Cover
  - Place text and key elements no closer than 10–15 mm from the edges to avoid them being cut off during printing.
  - Text can be placed on the spine provided the block thickness is at least 10 mm.
  - For notebooks and planners, the following options are available: hardcover or softcover, as well as various binding types—sewn, glued, stapled, or spiral-bound (depending on the format and purpose of the product).
• Lamination
  - Glossy — included in the price.
  - Matte — +15 UAH/copy.
• Important details
  - Allow 3–5 mm for trimming.
  - The possible technical margin of error for printing and trimming is 1–2 mm.
  For notebooks and planners with glue or spiral binding, you should account for the unprinted binding area, which may result in small white margins at the binding site.
• Additional services
  - Separating the layout from spreads — 150 UAH.
  - Adding a fabric bookmark — 40 UAH.
  - Prepress file preparation (checking the PDF, layout, and technical parameters).
