Barbara Ward is a seventeen-year-old girl who moved to Yok, a small town in the south of the country, just an hour ago. Her father, not a particularly influential and wealthy man, tries with all his might to help his daughter: she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder caused by the sudden death of her mother. By a happy coincidence, Maverick, a twenty-year-old guy who recommends himself as a "healer" settles not far from them. He is drawn to Barbara, and especially to her nightmares, and, left alone with the doctor, she understands why.
